About this Piece
An unsigned English watercolour of around 1900, by a careful amateur hand. The stretch of coast is not named and has not been identified.
A high, scrub-covered headland runs down to a rocky point, with a calm bay sheltered below. A cutter heads out to sea on the right, and a smaller boat with red sails lies in the middle distance. In the foreground a fenced path crosses the cliff top through low scrub.
Watercolour on paper, unsigned. The sheet is laid on a buff card, slightly off centre, with light foxing and a frayed lower edge. In a narrow ebonised frame.
