About this Piece
Jamie Reid (1947–2023) is one of the most consequential graphic artists of the twentieth century, his anarchic collage-based visual language having provided the defining imagery for the Sex Pistols and, through them, for the entire punk movement. 'Ragged Kingdom (Riot)' is a major late work, demonstrating that Reid's political vision and formal inventiveness remained wholly undiminished in his final years.
This screenprint in colours on wove paper is numbered 1/10 — the first impression from a very small edition of just ten, making it among the most desirable of all available examples. The work is signed and titled in marker pen by the artist in his own hand. The image measures 99 by 68.5 centimetres and is presented framed.
With editions this small, and Reid's death in 2023 having firmly secured his place in art history, works of this quality are being acquired with increasing urgency by collectors and institutions alike. An exceptional opportunity. Subject to the Artist's Resale Right.
